New tractors in the 8R series from John Deere

Launch of new 8R series wheeled tractors

With the launch of the new 8R series wheeled tractors, the 8RT two-track models and the brand-new 8RX four-track versions, John Deere is the first agricultural equipment manufacturer to produce a range of standard tractors offering three different traction concepts. The range of 13 models includes many comfort features previously reserved for luxury passenger cars, as well as the optional CommandPRO™ joystick.

Maximizing the protection of agricultural soils efficiently with John Deere

The new 8RX, unique in its sector, was developed with the aim of maximizing soil protection without compromising performance. It therefore offers by far the largest contact surface in its class, as well as a transport width of less than 3 m and an unrestricted travel speed of 40 km/h. This tractor is extremely maneuverable and minimizes skidding when turning.

Compared with the two-track models generally found in these power ranges, the 8RX is significantly more stable on hillsides and performs well in more difficult ground conditions thanks to superior self-cleaning capacity. The tracks are available in widths from 41 to 76 cm (16 to 30 inches), providing a total ground contact area of more than 4,5m2.

40ch more for these John Deere 8R tractors with PowerTech™ PVS & PSS engines

John Deere has also further increased the already considerable power of these tractors, even on the 8RT, which benefits from 40 ch more. The new 8R tractors continue to be equipped with the proven and economical 9-liter John Deere PowerTech™ PVS & PSS engines. New features include a viscous radiator fan and the relocation of the engine's auxiliary systems to the front. Thanks to the new design and lower heat exposure, it has also been possible to further reduce engine operating and maintenance costs.

Transmission options include the PowerShift™ 16/5 transmission, now available up to the 8R340 model, the e23™ transmission with Efficiency Manager, and the AutoPowr™ continuously variable transmission. The rear brakes have been substantially strengthened so that front brakes are no longer necessary, even at 50 km/h. Additional front brakes can still be ordered, however. The 8R tractors can now optionally be equipped with the standard 1500 front axle, designed for specialized applications and in high demand in various markets around the world.

John Deere 8R tractor, a redesigned cab interior

The completely redesigned cab will also delight its occupants. The high-back seat, remarkably sophisticated, is available with perforated leather, seat heating, active air circulation, a massage function with 2 zones and various electrically or pneumatically adjustable seat elements. In addition, the award-winning ActiveSeat™ II suspension has been improved to offer an even better response and greater reduction of vertical shocks compared with the first-generation system.

The 360° LED lighting, already a benchmark, has seen its performance increase by a further approximately 60%, for seeing at night as in broad daylight. The volume of the integrated refrigerator has been doubled to 11 liters, making it possible to carry plenty of refreshments during long working days. The 6.1 surround-sound audio system offers a superior musical experience inspired by concert halls. The 6,5-inch DAB+ touchscreen radio offers advanced features and is compatible with Apple CarPlay. Other cab improvements made in response to customer requests include a wider entrance and lower door handles, as well as self-cancelling turn signals. In addition, the air conditioning system has been moved beneath the cab. This has not only increased the space available in the cab but also further reduced the noise level inside, even though the cooling and heating capacities have almost doubled.

The cutting-edge AutoTrac™ system improved once again

The cutting-edge AutoTrac™ system has been improved further and can now rely in particular on an optional StarFire™ 6000 receiver. Wireless data transfer to the operations center is free for five years with the optional ?connectivity pack.? Field boundaries, guidance lines and configuration data, as well as crop planning and documentation, can all be managed quickly and securely thanks to this web platform. The AutoSetup system is a true revolution. It allows all the data relating to fields, machines and implements needed for individual jobs to be downloaded directly to the tractor. This greatly simplifies the process and means that the tractor is ready to use the data in the field much more quickly, while eliminating the possibility of incorrect setup. AutoSetup will be available shortly after the first machines arrive in Europe.

A remotely monitored tractor

Thanks to JDLink™, the tractor can be monitored remotely at the customer's request to ensure maximum availability. With the customer's additional consent for Expert Alerts, it is possible to anticipate potential damage to the machine and to reduce or even completely avoid costly repairs.
